The Who - (WH002BW)

Photographer: Barrie Wentzell
Edition: 50
Date: 1968

"I went along with Chris Welch, writer for The Melody Maker, to interview Pete who wanted to tell us about his new idea for a 'concept album'. It was a cold and dark day and after much chat about music, art and the guru, Meha Babba, he told us about this story of a deaf, dumb and blind kid that he was working on. As I was taking this shot near the window in the failing light, I said that it seemed rather a sad and depressing theme and that I couldn't see how it would be accepted or could become a hit. Shows how much I knew since as destiny was to show, Tommy became The Who's biggest and best success!" Custom sizes may be available. Please inquire for availability and pricing.
